Climbing Associate

Summary: As a Climbing Associate, you are the face of Bliss. You’ll have face-to-face interaction with our guest and members while providing exceptional service. Climbing Associates offer a very important role in monitoring safety in the climbing area by offering orientation training to new climbers and doing climb area checks. This position also includes front desk check-ins, store sales, gym cleaning, and more. Opportunity to become a CWA certified Climbing Wall Instructor available as well.

Availability Requested: Opening, Closing, and Weekends
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to comply with safety and operational standards for working in a climbing gym environment.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Monitor climbers to ensure adherence to gym policies and safety procedures.
  • Assist with addressing and reporting safety concerns as needed.
  • Verify that all visitors complete a waiver and ensure it is properly linked to their record before entering the climbing area.

Customer Service and Member Support

  • Create a welcoming environment by engaging with members, addressing their needs, and fostering a sense of belonging ensuring they always leave satisfied.
  • Support in-gym events and contribute to building a positive environment.
  • Assist with pro shop sales, retail transactions, and membership or class promotions to help members find the best options for their needs.

Climbing Instruction

  • Provide climbing orientations to new guests in the gym.
  • Provide basic guidance to members and teach climbing classes after proper certifications are obtained.
  • Opportunities for teaching advanced belay and climbing classes are available based on experience and certification achievements.
  • Complete and maintain required training:
  • Within first 30 – 90 days of employment: CPR Training, SafeSport Training, Belay tested, obtain CWA Climbing Wall Instructor Level 2 Certification.

Facility Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all areas of the facility.
  • Assist with basic equipment checks and upkeep.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Other

  • Perform all duties as assigned and adhere to other job responsibilities required by your supervisor.
